Hi, I'm Chan. Just your local home baker.

Chan's Bake Shop is me, my mixer, and a kitchen in New Bedford that smells like vanilla most weekends. It started the way these things usually do: a birthday cake for someone in my family, then a cousin's birthday, then a friend's shower, and then people I didn't know asking what I'd charge.

I'm a home baker, not a storefront. That means every order is one I'm making myself, start to finish, and I only take on as many as I can do well in a week. It also means I get to try new things constantly. Cake pops one week, Oreo truffle cups for a clam boil the next, a jet ski and a dolphin on a sheet cake because someone turned 63 and loves the water.

I love a theme. Give me a golf course, a lavender heart with bows, a "she's a weenie bit older" hot dog party, and I'm in. If you have a photo you love, send it. If you only have a feeling, that works too.

Everything is from scratch, decorated by hand, and made for people around the South Coast. If you want something that tastes like someone made it just for you, that's what I do.
